#265. Quarters

Well, someone finally agreed to employ me. Starting Monday, I'll be monkeying about with PHP and MySQL in a semi-organised non-chaotic manner. I guess that means I won't be vacating the country all too soon, unlike Davey Boy, who is off to Australia soon and to which end we all had a merry going away party.

How we didn't get kicked out of that pub is a wonder, not that I'd mind being barred from that particular establishment when there's plenty other good 'uns to choose from, even Sin É with its shit Guinness (i.e. the worst I've had anywhere in this country outside a student bar) and rude staff is a kicking joint.

Speaking about joints, we're off to Amsterdam next month for a well deserved holiday after all that hard travelling. Suggestions on where to stay are welcome, as are any pointers on apartment hunting in Dublin. We're thinking of looking for something in the so-called 'Village Quarter' as it's convenient for work and the neighbourhood has a good vibe and is close to town and homes many friendly residents.

I paid a short visit to this exhibition and was underwhelmed. The content is interesting but maybe I was expecting more than words, pictures and misspellings. Maybe some models and a bit more interaction than a mac pointing at the website. I was turfed out before getting to finish.
