Dental Repairs While U Wait

The daily drudgery of my commute had a momentary respite today in the form of the above notice outside a dentist. Now, unless I'm seriously mistaken, and with the exception of removeable falsh teeth, surely all dental repairs must be performed while waiting, rendering most of this sign redundant?

This also reminds me of a sign, hand written and sellotaped to the ticket window in my local train station, which read something like this: "Timetables: 1 for €1.20 or 2 for €2.40." Wow, bargain!

I'm pretty sure I once saw a reference to a "Haircuts While You Wait" sign - in a book of Irish Jokes. The dentist must, must, please GOD, have been taking the piss. Please.

Unfortunately, I think not.

Dentists are more concerned about teeth, not tongues in cheek.

Are you sure it was a dental surgery? I seem to recall seeing quite a few of these backjard denture repair shops (translation: one bloke with a few pliers and plastics mixtures and stuff) where they seemed to be oblivious of the difference between DENTAL and DENTURE repairs.

On the bargain thing: I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall that when I lived in Dublin, there were lots of "familiy packs" on the shelves (at TESCOs, etc) where the bigger pack cost more. Beats me why, but anyway.

Yeah, you're probably right. Mildly entertaining all the same.

Are family packs not bigger than regular packs?

Yea, they are. I meant to say that they cost more, like, even proportionally. (I just failed to explain myself properly.) What I meant was, say, the Sqeez 1 litre pack was 1.40 and the double pack was ONLY 3 euro!!! I'm making up this example as I couldn't for the life of me recall the actual brand but I swear I've seen it several times that when you did the math it worked out MORE expensive. Go figure.
