#109. Beer and pizza and all things good

One of the more peculiar aspects of modern day living, is the concept of bookshop cafés. Such things started appearing in swish boutiques as Hodges Figges or Waterstone's, but now even Eason's have got in on the act. It just conjures up images of elderly customers on a Sunday afternoon having tea and cakes. I don't like it.
I should have more of a hangover today, having consumed about 2 gallons of biere, but I was drinking the night before and was sufficiently hungover yesterday to forgo today's fuzziness. It's an unproven fact that hangovers are rare in sequential days, leading me to wonder if the ultimate cure for a hangover is to actually go back in time and have a bellyfull the previous night. Then again, if you had a time machine, you could just skip the hangover in the first place. Anyway, there's nothing a good fried egg sandwich can't fix.
I was the first of the group in the pub and left at last orders. In fact nobody stayed for the entire night, start to finish, except the birthday bunny (including ears) and myself. It was interesting to see people coming and going. I felt I was observing more than taking part, trying to keep track of the whereabouts of indivuals and groups. I know Clipi left for the last bus, Ste went to that hot noisy place and the reply to my text message enquiring where Hroosky had gotten to was "Round circle for driving", which I assume to be a roundabout on his way home. Maybe it was the same roundabout that my mate Paul slept on one drunken summer night...
I've had lasagne for dinner 3 times this week. Tonight, however, I'm planning to eat the tastiest thing to ever come out of a freezer, Goodfellas stone-baked ciabatta-style pepperoni pizza.
