#38. Horse-Lady

Posted July 27, 2001, 14:56 CEST

Yesterday the doorbell rang quite early and woke me up. It obviously wasn't for me but on the second ring I sprang up to answer it. Luckily for me it was the (massively bearded) postman who needed a signature for a registered letter containing a cheque for me. The moral or the story: good things come early in the morning too.

That cheque + paycheck + deposit back is going to send my bank balance soaring from £0 to about £2000. So it's my round. It'll also help to implement various items on my roadmap.

I tried to read on the train in this morning (despite, semi-grogginess from last night) but I couldn't, reason being this really annoying horse-lady who kept whinnying at the top of her lungs at anything that was said. The laugh would start suddenly, unexpectedly, then would fluctuate rapidly between extremely irritating and incredibly irritating before cutting out instantly. The would then resume normal banter while everyone within earshot tries to settle their nerves once again.
